Two questions on the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games

The Washington Post article dated May 5, insisting Japan cancel the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, became one of the triggers that have heated up the debate on whether to hold the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics in Japan

I think it would be virtually impossible to hold the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics without clarifying at least the following two questions.

1・ How much will the bubble system cost? What are the financial resources?

The bubble system should not only include the participating athletes, but also all personnel involved in the event. However, as noted in the article, eight people of the torch relay staff have already been infected. We don't even have an estimate of how much it will cost in total to ensure the effectiveness of the bubble method (which I'm sure is impossible). according to news reports, the Australian Tennis Open, which introduced the bubble system, cost a huge amount of money, and it is obvious that the budget for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics will have to be several dozen times higher than that. The government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government are never allowed to tell us after the event saying, "It has cost so much that we had to use your tax." Those in charge of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games should fulfill their obligation to disclose the budget and financial resources to the public before investing a large amount of money.

2・ How will the medical system be insured?

According to a report by Jiji Press on May 3, the Organizing Committee is trying to hire about two hundred sports doctors certified by the Japan Sports Association.

What? Now? I could not believe my eyes when I heard that news. I wonder how many days are left until the Olympic Games. Besides, they say they will work for free for 14 days. I don't think it's common sense to force a professional to volunteer. Hiring five hundred nurses is also a problem. Isn't it unrealistic to secure such many medical professionals when there is a shortage of medical staff for the Covid-19 vaccination?

IOC President Bach, who was called "Baron Von Ripper-off " in the Washington Post article, praised the perseverance of the Japanese people at a press conference. But having perseverance is not always a virtue, there is an opinion that this perseverance has added to anti-Asian's racism, which has become a problem all over the world, and I am of the same opinion. I would like to refer to this issue in more detail in a separate article.

The government of Japan, the Tokyo metropolitan government and the organizing committee must face reality and decide by clearly saying "no" to the IOC's unreasonable demands. If coronavirus outbreaks arise during the event, Japan will lose the trust of the world.

A journalist of the British magazine "Times" said, "The decision to hold the Olympics in this circumstance is like a gamble." He is absolutely right. We should neither risk the lives of many people nor impose a huge debt on the next generation.

This photo is my collection of items of Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics (only two...). Stamps and a badge. The badge has the previous logo that was used before they selected the official one. The organizing committee has invented a huge amount of money and time to create an official logo while asking medical professionals to volunteer for the event.
